Mark Morgenstern of Morning Star Prairie Plants collected seeds to propagate on a site just west of Houston in the Katy area. Not usually sold in the nursery trade, this erect annual reaches 12-24 inches tall and grows in rocky dry prairies, fields, glades, and roadsides. The foliage has a strong camphor scent when crushed. It has a fibrous root and can bloom from May through October.
