Very low water use plant. It can take a little extra moisture, but will struggle in heavy soil or if the roots are kept wet for long periods of time. Cut back by 1/2 after bloom if needed to keep compact. Propagation: Seed, Cuttings.

Comments

Blooms March-July. Small evergreen mounding form, works as a filler, tucked into small bare spots in well-drained garden beds. Native habitat, in prairies, bluffs, and open woods mostly on the Edwards Plateau. Good nectar plant..
Previous Scientific Name(s): Synonym(s): Scutellaria brevifolia, Scutellaria resinosa var. brevifolia
