Carroll Abbott (1926-1984) was the founder of the Native Plant Society of Texas and one of the early promoters of preserving and gardening with native plants. The Kerrville chapter of NPSOT has created a garden at Riverside Nature Center in Kerrville that is dedicated to Carroll Abbott.
