Knapp Heritage Park was dedicated in 2004 and managed by the Arlington Historical Society. Geraldine Mills is the Director of this park and as well as the Fielder House Historical Museum.
The gardens at Knapp had been neglected and needed renovation so Geraldine asked a couple of members of the North Central Chapter of Native Plant Texas Native Society Josephine Keeney and Jane Oosterhuis, if they would refurnish the garden beds with Texas native plants. They started November 6, 2017, with help of other volunteers and have continue working once a month since maintaining the beds.
The gardens have flourished and fed many pollinators, including the wonderful butterflies.
