Andy Sipocz, Texas Parks and Wildlife, led a group of Clear Lake Chapter members on a hike along the Prairie Trail at Brazos Bend State Park – Texas Parks and Wildlife on April 13, 2017. Going about a quarter mile off trail, the group was able to look at the native prairie and wetland complex up close. Andy identified the plants common to these prairies and marshes. He also pointed out geologic and soil features and explained their origin and how they shape the plant community.
The walking tour began with an overview of the prairie.
