We are very excited to share with you that Colleen Dieter, a top gardening educator, will present “Drought Tolerant Plants for the Hill Country” at our next Highland Lakes Native Plant Society meeting on Saturday, 18 January 2025, 1:00-3:00 at the Marble Falls Library, 101 Main Street.
The educational presentation will follow a 30 minutes chapter business meeting. Colleen will cover these topics:
*Her favorite plants that are tried and true Central Texas survivors
*Discuss what “drought tolerant” really means
* Share some plant maintenance tips
Colleen is often asked to speak to audiences about native Texas planting. Her speaking appearances include the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center, TreeFolks, Central Texas Williamson County Master Gardeners and the Natural Gardener. She is an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist and earned a Certificate in Fruit Tree Care from OrchardPeople.com.
She offers her expertise on The Horticulture Hangover call-in radio show every Saturday morning from 8-9 AM on KLBJ AM 590, and co-hosts the Horticulturalist podcast, available wherever you listen to podcasts. She is a founder of Central Texas Seed Savers, an organization dedicated to preventing extinction by sharing local seeds.
