Thanks to each of you for your interest in the swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata) rescue. It’s scheduled for Sunday afternoon from 1:00-4:00. The property is about 90 minutes north of central Austin, between Lampasas and Gatesville near the town of Adamsville. I will send directions, a map and my cell number on Saturday afternoon to everyone who signs up. Please feel free to share this with friends who may be interested.
There’s a SignUpGenius at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090E4DA4A829A4FF2-swamp
SignUp Genius will ask you for a password to get to the signup. it’s milkweed – all lowercase.
The milkweed is growing in what’s usually the bottom of a pond. The ground can be mucky and the sediment is deep in places, so you will need shoes or boots for that. There are no bathrooms on site, and you will need to bring your own water and anything else you might need. Many of the plants can be pulled easily by hand, but a shovel is helpful for some. There are also seed heads so you can bring a bag for those, too, if you wish.
Thanks to Claire in Austin and Ashley in Williamson County for guidance and help in setting this up!
Truly,
Lynn Boswell, Property Owner
