May 16, 2023 @ 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Join our monthly meeting on May 16th for a presentation by Angel Schatz, a member of the Central Texas Mycological Society Leadership Circle. Learn the basics of mycology and how fungi is entangled in all parts of our life. This program covers how fungi benefits our entire ecosystem, our health and more. Learn about the edible and medicinal mushrooms that fruit Central Texas.
Angel Schatz radiates passion for understanding the ecosystem of central Texas and making mycology education accessible to anyone who shares interest. She is also a member of leadership team of Austin Organic Gardeners; harmonizing vegetable gardening and mushroom growing, particularly by using recycled mushroom blocks. Formally an experience designer and animator in the tech world, she hopes to inspire more people to dial into the wood-wide-web.
This event is open to the public. The meeting site will open for socializing at 6:30 p.m. The presentation will begin at 7:00, followed by announcements. If you are interested in becoming more involved in the chapter, please stick around for the business meeting so you can meet chapter leaders.
