Susan James resides near Canyon Lake, TX and has had a lifelong interest in plants. In addition to extensive reading, personal research, and observation on the subject, she is a class of 2016 LMN graduate, past NPSOT Lindheimer chapter president and has worked as the gardener for grounds of the Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country. Past activities include plant surveys for Bracken Bat Cave, Canyon Lake Gorge and a variety of private properties in the area. Background includes a degree in microbiology from Michigan State University, graduate studies in electron microscopy at the University of Illinois, various articles, patented research at DuPont Dow Elastomers and sales and sales management for Fisher Scientific.
