April 27, 2023 @ 7:00 pm – 7:30 pm
The Cedar Park Mayor has asked Elizabeth McGreevy to accept an Arbor Day proclamation on April 27th at 7 pm. Elizabeth has invited NPSOT members to attend. She is a NPSOT Austin member and author of Wanted! Mountain Cedars Dead or Alive
Elizabeth included a note from the Mayor: “At our next council meeting, Thursday April 27th, the City of Cedar Park will be issuing a proclamation in honor of Arbor Day, which as you probably know, is the following day (April 28th). I had the pleasure of reading your book last year, which I thoroughly enjoyed as a nature-lover and history buff, but also really appreciated in my capacity as Mayor of Cedar Park because it helped me understand the reasons that the early settlers of our community wanted to celebrate the presence of Cedar trees in the area that became our city! Given your long history defending the Ashe Juniper, I thought that you might be the ideal person to accept the proclamation on behalf of our namesake tree and perhaps speak for just a couple minutes about the value the early settlers found in this particular tree. We will issue the proclamation right after the pledge of allegiance at 7:00 pm on April 27th. Our city council chamber is locating in Building 4, 350 Cypress Creek Rd, Cedar Park, TX.”
We hope to see you there.
