Please join us for our August Chapter meeting with our guest speaker Kirsti Harms.
Kirsti Harms, Executive Director of the Native Prairies Association of Texas (NPAT) is a longtime Austinite. She served on NPAT board leadership from 2008 to 2017. After retiring from her day job at the Texas Department of Transportation’s Travel Information Division, she became the Executive Director of NPAT. While her occupation has been in design, project management, and marketing, her interests have long been with native plants and ecosystems. This set her on a path to conservation, habitat restoration, and volunteerism. The Dowell Ranch was donated to NPAT in June 2021. It now serves as their headquarters and is home to various restoration projects as the ranch recovers from overgrazing by goats and cattle.
This event is open to the public. The meeting site will open for socializing at 6:30 p.m. The presentation will begin at 7:00, followed by announcements. If you are interested in becoming more involved in the chapter, please stick around for the business meeting so you can meet chapter leaders.
