NPSOT Position Statement on Invasive Plants
- Native – a species that evolved and occurs naturally, with no human intervention, in a particular ecoregion or environment.
- Nonnative – a species that does not occur naturally in a particular ecoregion or environment.
- Invasive – a species that is nonnative to a particular ecoregion or environment and whose introduction causes or is likely to cause economic or environmental harm or harm to human health.
