Topic: Land Stewardship for Birds – Part II Jan and Rufus will be discussing areas within the Texas Hill Country with sparse undergrowth and/or lack of plant diversity, and what can be done to make the land more attractive and supportive for birds. In some cases, sparse undergrowth may be attributed to overmowing, overgrazing, and clearing methods that do not retain or incorporate ground cover. A lack of plant diversity can be described as a portion of a natural environment that has become too dominant, which can lead to an imbalance in watersheds, erosion, and reduction of shelter for animals.
