The Spring 2024 Native Plant Sale was one for the record books! We had over 900 plants provided by 20 growers. The City of Boerne donated a huge number of cedar sage plants due to a contractor’s error. Many thanks to Rachel Thompson who cared for them, labeled over 200 four-inch pots and transported them to the sale. Even without this windfall, we would have had more plants than at any sale in memory. All but 25 of the cedar sage plants were sold. Preliminary figures provided by Pamela Bransford, NPSOT Treasurer, suggests that we netted $6,297–a single plant sales record!!! Our previous record high was $4,907.
The Pre-Sale on Friday was heavily attended and the Public Sale on Saturday also enjoyed steady customer traffic. The plant selection was very limited after 10:30 a.m., but shoppers did not complain and usually found one or more pots to purchase.
A big THANK YOU to all our growers and all those who worked hard on preparation and setup, customer service, checking out customers and the take down/clean up of the sale. It was a massive group effort!
