Topic: Saving Nature: Conserving Native Texas One Yard at a Time.
Join Mike McGee in reviewing research that illustrates why the mission of NPSOT is so important to the environment and our future. The presentation shows relevant information on land use and other causes of declines in wildlife and discusses the reasons why native plants are vital to healthy ecosystems and to sustaining wildlife. The many benefits of native plants in home landscapes are also presented.
Mike McGee is a charter member of the Pines and Prairies Chapter of NPSOT, a Texas Master Naturalist since 2016, and certified in the NPSOT native landscape program. He volunteers with several native plant-related activities and organizations including Mercer Botanic Gardens.
