Ever wonder what exactly grows in a prairie? Iris Poteet of the Coastal Prairie Conservancy focuses on native and non-native plants found in the coastal prairie landscape with some discussion on selectively working to control non-native invasive species.
About the Speaker
Iris Poteet serves as a board member for the Coastal Prairie Conservancy, formerly known as Katy Prairie Conservancy. Since 1999, she has devoted volunteer efforts to preserving the Katy Prairie. After a 34-year banking career, Iris retired in 2017, joined NPSOT and completed levels 1 & 3 of its native landscaping program. As a Texas Master Naturalist since 2018, Iris focuses her advanced training and volunteer hours on all things prairie, and devotes most of her time at CPC’s Katy Prairie Preserve.
