The Native Plant Society of Texas has scholarship opportunities for qualified students at Texas colleges.
Kate Hillhouse Scholarship
The Society will award up to $1000 for the academic year to an applicant enrolled in an undergraduate program in biology, botany, horticulture, landscape design, or related field at an accredited university or college in the state of Texas who is pursuing a career related to Texas native plants and/or to conservation and restoration of native plant habitats in Texas. Awards are administered by our Grants & Scholarship Committee chaired by the Vice-President of Education. Applications must be submitted by March 18. For additional information and an application:
Proceeds from a Silent Auction at our annual Fall Symposium have been donated to the scholarship fund each year since 2008. The scholarship is named in honor of Kate Hillhouse, a former president of the Society who was also an educator.
